Here’s a Do-it-Yourself Dragon Puppet based on the model on this page. This was done for Matt Petty at the SF Chronicle and will appear in Thursday’s 96 Hours section. Download and print the large version of this guy, mount the head and tail on cardboard, accordion-fold the midsection, attach the midsection to the head and tail, then attach a chopstick to the head and a chopstick to the tail, and march down your street! GUNG HAY FAT CHOY!

head on over to rama’s portrait party – there’s a certain someone you know featured there, and rama was even kind enough to indulge your host’s somewhat finicky eye by kindly re-posting an image. rama is a mensch.

Dear Ladies,
We went to go see ‘Persepolis‘ last night and it was just stunning. I had read the first part of the graphic novel and was blown away by it, but they’ve done a bang-up job of animating and bringing to life this rich and amazing life’s journey of the the author, Marjane Satrapi. They managed to make an animated film that is visually arresting – all the while keeping true to Ms. Satrapi’s simple comic line and language. Here’s a cool look at the artwork of the movie featuring the voices of the creators. The movie is entrancing. Go see it if you get the chance.
