Have a Scruffy Coffee Chrissmess

The t-shirts and hoodies from the Santa Monica – Venice Xmas Run arrived. Cool, huh? Notice that I did not type the word “Christmas”. That is because there’s a War on Christmas in this country (as evidenced by the lights and baubles and wreaths and whatnot on every single street corner in every single town). Apparently Chrissmess turns me into Snarky Mike Snarkerson!

Hope your Chrissmess is lovely and warm!

Thanks to Mick Hodgson and Ph.D, a Design Office.

over at sfgirlbybay today / exploratorium banners in san francisco!

good hello everyone!

there’s a nice big interview (with snaps, no less!) with me from our new buddy Victoria over at sfgirlbybay today – go have a gander! she and Leigh came over to the studio a few weekends ago, and this interview was the result. Very sweet. Thank you, Victoria!

Yesterday I met a bunch of friends for lunch and to see the Mary Blair exhibition at the Cartoon Art Museum, and boy, was it an amazing show. Her work blew me away. She was able to get so much depth with a few strokes rich color in gouache. Richness! Bonus: Also at the CAM is a show of Edward Gorey set drawings from the 70′s stage production of Dracula. Go see these shows before they skeedaddle.

While I was downtown with my friend Susan, I took a few snaps of the completed banners for the exploratorium up on poles around Union Square: they turned out great! Behold:

These banners are up all over San Francisco. Look up!
