‘Secrets of the Dog Park’ selected for American Illustration 30!

Friendlies,

‘Secrets of the Dog Park’, my screenprint that explores the issues of the gay dog community, has been selected for inclusion in American Illustration 30, a sooper groovy hard-cover compendium of hand-picked images. This is the seventh time my work has appeared in the book. “From more than 7,000 pictures entered by over 1,100 illustrators, magazines, agencies, publishers and schools, the jury selected, by a majority vote or better, only 316 images to appear in the book and represent the best pictures from 2010.”

Buy yourself a copy of the print here.

2010 halloween posters are here!

I AM SO EXCITED.

The Halloween posters are done, and they look great! Thanks to Nat Swope at Bloom Press for another amazing print job. 18 x 24″, blue, orange, and GLOW IN THE DARK inks! These posters commemorate yet another fabulous Driveway Follies in the Glenview district of Oakland, CA. Do you want one? Yes you do! Go directly to the Wertzateria shop and buy yourself one. As soon as it arrives, put it under some bright light and then get in a totally dark space. Say “Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary” in a spooky low voice, then open your eyes to see the Magical Glow of this poster!

BWA HA HA HA HA HA!

there’s a new poster for sale in the wertzateria shop – our big city orchestra poster commemorating their thirty years of noisiness is for sale here in the shop. all proceeds from the sale of this poster will go to buying me candy. lots of candy. big city orchestra is the brain child of a mysterious figure named odd McUb and his trusty sidekick ninah puchkina. look for a live show stateside in december. they will be playing lots of dates in europe in september 2009. Their website should have information on those happenings.

super furry 504 @ oakland’s café 504

Hey there folks!

Fine artist Dave Warnke and illustrator Michael Wertz are at it again. Couldn’t make it all the way down to Santa Cruz to see our latest? Well come say hello and see a *bunch* of new work – from wooden wall hangings to screen prints to cardboard pieces to small gocco prints. Come on down and enjoy a tasty adult beverage, some snacks, and live music, too!

Totally Psyched! We just found out that Heller High Water is going to be gracing the show with their own special brand of Berkeley Hillbilly-ness and four-part harmonies! Yaa-hoo!~

See a preview of the work here.

March 6, at 7 pm, at Cafe 504, 504 Wesley Avenue in Oakland, CA.

See you there? Your current reply is YES!
